Chatswood

Chatswood

Chatswood is one of biggest hubs in Sydney's northern suburbs, with concerts and performances at a purpose-built cultural precinct as well as a fantastic array of public street art. It's also home to an amazing Asian food scene and its leafy streets lead to lush parks.

Things to do

The North Shore's cultural hub is The Concourse, a sprawling complex that encompasses a concert hall, theatre and rehearsal space for live performances and popular entertainment. Its outdoor Urban Screen is a free public programme that spans everything from digital art to live broadcasts of sold out shows.

Its little laneways are one of Chatswood's main attractions, colourfully decorated with attention-grabbing street art. The public sculptures and urban art projects on display are an initiative of the local council and transform traditional commuter spaces into drawcards that embrace the whole community.

Nearby Roseville is home to the charming Roseville Cinema, an old-school, twin-screen cinema that feels as if it's from another era. It's a chance to step back in time and enjoy the big screen as it used to be, in a homely atmosphere where you feel welcomed and cocooned.
